The Municipality of Souris-Glenwood is seeking a motivated and organized professional to join our team as Assistant Parks & Recreation Manager.
Reporting to the Manager of Parks & Recreation, this position is a senior operational role supporting the Manager, with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day operations, supervising staff, and ensuring continuity of service across municipal recreation facilities, including the arena, pool, campground, community hall, and parks.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in growing within municipal recreation and contributing to the delivery of community services.
Qualifications:
? Post-secondary education in Recreation Management, Public Administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
? Minimum 2?3 years of experience in recreation, facility operations, or a related environment
? Demonstrated ability to coordinate operations and supervise staff in a team-based environment
? Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver?s Licence
Assets (Preferred Qualifications):
? Experience working in a municipal or public sector environment
? Experience with multi-facility operations (arena, pool, campground, or similar)
? Supervisory experience involving seasonal or part-time staff
? Experience supporting budgets, scheduling, or program delivery
? Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, facility or program-specific training)
Working Conditions:
? Full-time (40 hours/week)
? Evening and weekend work as required
