According to the article you linked to, it's unknown if the kid was ever in trouble before, has a history with the police, is in a group home or living with parents, etc. It could have been his 100th time in trouble, but just as easily been his first. I said in "my opinion"
I don't care where, who he lives with or if he has or has not been in trouble before - and I never said he was.
He is 16 - he can get a license, seems to know how to get drunk, cause damage. The justice system needs to make sure he is charged appropriately.
My statements also refer to the many you hear of getting a slap on the wrist for criminal activity, not just this kid.
It just keeps on getting worse and worse.
