Doubling the larvacide program will make a larger impact. I’ve lived in cities that relied more on larvacide than fogging and it sure makes a difference. And it isn’t as dependant on weather

How do you find out if you *may* be in a buffer zone?? Crossing my fingers we aren’t. These skeeters are horrible!!

Going to be a gusty Wednesday with winds pushing to 50k... but hourly forecast has that dying off to 20k after supper and then as if on cue 10k for the 10pm hour.

By the time you get to that hour, showing nil chance of rain.
Temp overnight eventually down to 12, but holding above 15 until the 1am hour:

For anyone curious on temperature, the threshold for starting fogging would be at least 15 degrees. If it happens to drop below that I’m told that they would keep going until it gets as low as 13. If you take the hourly forecast literally that would in theory give a chance to get most if not all of tonight’s half of fogging done as long as the wind dies down like the forecast calls for!

Forecast now saying the lowest the wind will get overnight is 15k. Cutting it about as close as you can!

That number is for the entire city. I heard 33 but I guess a last minute one must of came in.

That's only roughly 3 kms of city the won't get fogged...

I’ll start with the good news... wind has fallen right off. Env Canada showing 14k for 8pm reading. An unofficial personal weather station in South End is showing a measley 6k within the last 10 mins.

And now for the other news...

Who knows, maybe it evolves in such a way that we get nothing.... but if we do, Not clear if it’s raining right at 10 if they’d call off on the spot or wait it out?

Rain situation really isn’t looking good for 10pm but if weather conditions happen to be met, this is from https://www.brandon.ca/public-notices-details?var=5947

“In terms of the fogging schedule, all areas north of Victoria Avenue (from Victoria Avenue to Sandison Road at the Brandon Municipal Airport and from 66th Street to 49th Street East) will be fogged on Wednesday, July 15th, beginning at approximately 10 p.m. All areas south of Victoria Avenue (from Victoria Avenue to 2 miles south of Patricia Avenue and from 66th Street to 49th Street East) will then be fogged on Thursday, July 16th, beginning at approximately 10 p.m.”

I’m told by a city rep that crews remain on the ground and are waiting it out as of now.

Wind has kicked up to 21 and radar to me looks dodgy for prob at least the next hour. Thinking the wind sorts itself out potentially after system passes, depending on how long they're willing to wait it out.

Wind has sure died right back down. No official Env Canada reading yet but personal gauge unofficially showing fall back off to 5km/hr with gusts to 12.

Radar still a little dodgy for a bit but showing hope of some breakup or maybe even trending away from the city. Not sure how cautious they are planning on being before potentially starting, but it's all enough to give a guy hope.... If you’re in the area scheduled for fogging and do notice a truck, please share!

1/2 City of #BdnMb mosquito fogging crews waited out tonight’s weather as long as they could, but w/ more rain anticipated in the coming hours & w/ forecast overnight temps hovering near the threshold for fogging product effectiveness, we’ve had to postpone tonight’s fogging.
