This guy has got the right idea! It is truly an epidemic

It's worse than just the grass, they aim for furniture, vehicles, fire pits, and even dogs!!!
But back on topic, I personally have no problem with dogs on my lawn until they do their business and their owner chooses not to pick it up. That is more than inconsiderate, but simply trying to prevent your dog from walking on grass is just unreasonable and really you don't know what is going on in their head. Personally I'm sure many of us would choose to walk on soft grass instead of rough and potentially hot side walk if we were barefoot.
That being said I understand not everyone has the same views as I do and for that reason I would say it is not unreasonable to have a civil conversation with someone if it is a reacquiring issue. I would however suggest that before doing so you are fully educated on your rights and the city law, i.e. Where your property line is, what is city property, etc.
