So I'm thinking

Dangers while on the job makes it worth big money, there are all sorts of people who work with dangerous conditions and don't get paid big money, I'll give two quick examples. Manitoba hydro has people who work with high voltage power lines every day, and hydro is pretty important in keeping our world going, so how many of these people get over 100k, heck even electricians who come to your house can get electrocuted while working.
Second might be the people who truck hazardous goods, take NH3 as an example, any screw ups on that job can kill you, so maybe these people need a bit of a raise.
Even on a personal note, there are many times during the year that I and all other cattle producers work with animals, that are about as stable as the people that police deal with, and we never know if they are going to attack us with the intention of doing us harm or killing us, so we are all ready for our increase in pay.
Honestly, dangers on the job are sort of a poor excuse for high wages, to me it comes down to job description, when you decide to take on a dangerous job I hope that you are smart enough to realize there are dangers to that job.
Wonder what the wages are form our military personel, cause in that job there's a pretty good chance that you will end up in truely dangerous situations.
