Some sort of standoff happening at 1st and Princess. K-9 unit, under covers, guns drawn, something big is happening.

Sorry. Should have specified is is Princess West at 1st, not East. So there was no turning to go downtown.

BPS has it all under control then?!

I dunno. I haven't seen anything on FB yet and I just drove by there when I wrote the original post. (And yes, my son was actually driving so I wasn't on my phone and driving at the same time.)

I drove through that area around 3pm give or take, and all I seen was a one cop suv and tow truck towing a car on princess and 2nd street.

1st is blocked off by police a little South of princess just before 4pm. Police had a cab pulled over and they had 3 officers (one plain clothes) with guns drawn and a young girl was backing up to the unmarked police car. Other police cars were driving to the location. Anyone else have other info?

the elderly lady with grey hair was the young one? and there was about 8 that pulled over the small suv at the same time they surrounded the vehicle instantly no chase involved looked like a drug sting

I saw no eldery lady. Just a grey van taxi with a young girl backing up to the unmarked police car. She looked about 16 or 17.

Must be 2 separate incidents then. We saw a grey van that was a taxi with a black driver and a very young girl backing up. This was on 1st South of princess

We drove by the incident just before 4 heading north on 1st. We were like 10 feet away.

There must of been two separate incidents in the same area this afternoon. When I drove down Princess around 3pm a tow truck was hooking up to a black Kia soul and a cop was sitting behind the soul with its lights on, near 2nd & Princess. Not sure if that's related to what the OP saw. Also from looking at the original post, this discussion was started at 2:38pm.

Weapon Offences, CDSA Charges:  
 
On Tuesday, as a result of ongoing CSU investigation, 5 people were arrested in relation to a search warrant executed at a residence in the 200 block of Rosser Ave East. The search warrant was in relation to CDSA and Criminal Code offences.  
 
As a result of traffic stops and search of the residence, Police seized a sawed off semi-auto shotgun, loaded, an ammo belt with 14 12gauge shells, a .22 calibre hand gun with a banana style clip with 2 rounds, two cans of bear spray, 16 .32 calibre rifle cartridges and 80 grams of Marihuana. In total, 20 Criminal Code and CDSA charges were laid and 4 Warrants of Arrest executed.  
 
A 27yr old Brandon man was arrested and charged with Unsafe storage of Firearm, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm in a motor vehicle, Possess Firearm contrary to prohibition and Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Attend Court. The male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court on May 10th.  
 
A 24yr old Winnipeg man was arrested and charged with Carry concealed Weapon, Unsafe storage of Firearm, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm in a motor vehicle and Possess Firearm contrary to prohibition. The male was lodged at BCC and will appear in Court on May 10th.  
 
A 19yr old Brandon woman was arrested and charged with Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2 and Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under. The female released to appear in Court in June.  
 
A 16yr old Brandon female youth was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana, Unsafe storage of Ammunition and Warrant of Arrest for Assault with a Weapon. The female was released to appear in Court in June.  
 
A 26yr old Griswold, Mb man was arrested on the strength of an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation. The male was released to appear in Court in July.  
 
This incident is still under investigation.

Taking kids to work and saw all this action taking place across the road and a bit north of Hansel & Gretel. It seems to be a taxi cab involved and kids saw guns drawn.

At the bottom of the CKLQ article below, there's a short video of one of the arrest in this case. Not sure where the arrest below was, but it doesn't look like 1st street so there must of been a few traffic stops with arrests.

the van was a undercover vehicle the suv that was stopped that had the suspects was about 20 feet from the corner of 2nd and princess 3 of my co workers video tapped the whole thing if you want the proof

The video in the article looks like the arrest with the suv. The article that Adam posted said traffic stops plurrell. This would have been one of them the other was on 1st, and there may have been more.
