My biological father

left my mother when I was 18 for another woman (who was 25 years his junior). They ended up getting a divorce, which was long drawn out, and he was ordered to pay child support for my two sisters and one brother. Although he was ordered to pay for them, he found ways to hide his money and rarely paid anything. My family suffered for years. He went on to father two more children and then requested that he not pay for my siblings welfare. The judge told him that he could not go around making kids and not expect to pay for the ones he already has (the judge's words to him! LOL!). Eventually, my mom gave up and did it on her own. Now that we are all grown, we found out that he had enough money hidden away to buy a new Escalade. What a jerk! Now he lives with his wife, two biological kids, and four adopted kids. It's so sad when a parent does this to the children that he says he loves and would do anything for.
I sound bitter, I know this. But too many parents get away with this kind of crap and it isn't fair to the children. One thing I am glad about with regard to him leaving my mom is that she went on to get her university degree in education and resource and is now a vice principal. She's earning the big bucks while he isn't working. What goes around comes around.
