I have always dated with an age difference of more than 10 years!! The age doesn't really matter as long is your on the same page!! There are considerations to take into account though for the long haul (after the honeymoon stage):
- ones desire to have biological children
- physical ability/insurance coverage to travel when older - will this hold back the younger mate or cause issues...
- financial stability of both partners or is one just wanting to be looked after (Sugar Momma or Sugar Daddy)
- willing to not worry about outspoken people pointing out your age difference or making fun of your relationship
- mate may have a daughter or son your age, that can be a great thing or could have issues especially if biological father is alive
I wish you all the best...the pickings are very few and far between!!

the mathematical calculator dos seem to correspond to my personal feelings most on the age debate except for the other issues you mention as the age gets older
someone in there 60's dating someone in there late 30's will run into huge lifestyle issues as the older one ages and the younger one either ends up being in a caregiver role or is held back from lifestyle choices that the older partner couldnt participate in
70 dating a 42 y/o or 80 dating 47 doesnt seem like a great choice imo altho i can see admiring a person that much older personally i could never see them as a partner even if i love them for other reasons, while love is a huge part of a relationship why many fail imo is because partners dont look at all the life factors, money region and lifestyle needs and wants ect age would fit into the latter category and while anyone in their 30's is an adult and can make their own choices personally over a ten year age difference is to much imo
for the OP tho, mo really doesnt matter, its yours and his you need to worry about so as long as you guys know your obstetricals then really its your call
