I always wondered why its so hard to find a decent guy these days. Dating sites are crap.. and im not the kind of person that goes out to bars and meets random guys.. but then honestly how is a women supposed to meet a companion? Ugh

You know the person that wanted take u in date y turned down or person u broke up with cuz who cares maybe it's karma on u for not trying that date out or doin stupid things back when ur younger lower ur standards a bit maybe??

I don't think karma has anything to do with it!  
 
Dating site are difficult, as you have to weed through them for someone who is really looking to date and find that special someone.  
 
My thoughts are looks and bodies may change, but good hearts and souls don't. I am looking for the good hearts and souls first, looks and body styles are secondary.  
 
Maybe everyone is to picky these days. Just my opinion.

Focus on yourself and what is important to you. Get involved in organizations that interest you. That is where you will meet someone that has similar beliefs.  
 
Service clubs like Lions and Rotary now have younger groups. If you like animals, volunteer at the Humane Society. If health care is important, the hospital has a volunteer group as well as personal care homes. These last two may require a "vulnerable persons certificate" or something but then the other people will also have been cleared. If you have the "child abuse registry check" certificate, the schools or Y may have openings for volunteers.  
 
Let your friends know you are looking and what you are looking for.

Dating is definitely hard if that's your sole purpose in life. Live your life, set goals, work on yourself. Be ready when you meet the right person for you.  
 
Focusing solely on dating means that you are not happy in your own skin by yourself. You can learn a lot from being single. Embrace it and improve yourself. The right opportunity will present itself in time. You can't make something happen that's not meant to happen right now.  
 
Dating and forcing the issue is only going to cause heartache.  
 
Many people feel they aren't complete without a mate. Who are you by yourself? What defines you, what are your long term goals? When you truly know yourself and what you want, you will know what type of person is right for you.  
 
Enjoy it. I've spent many years being single along the way and I've fully embraced it and enjoyed it.

I agree with katwalk1909.  
I am involved and in the community.Get out there. Most of the groups mentioned have an older age group and not many singles. They are great organizations that help you to meet others in the community with the activities they have.  
 
I think the problem is that the older singles are just sitting at home on their computers and not getting involved.

You are 28, and just got out of a 9 year relationship. Be single for a year, then worry about dating!

Let it come to you. Sure you can always meet new people, but dont look for something because you will end up settling. You can literally meet people anywhere, not just online dating. Smile at that guy at the gas station or grocery store, strike up a conversation. It doesnt only happen in movies!

I work at 2 jobs that entails customer service so my question is for males  
 
Would u be weirded out if I asked u out if we had good conversation for a few minutes??

Dating these days does seem hard. I think there is a lot of what I like to call remote control effect. It's too easy to just flip try a new person if there is anything that you don't like or there is a pause in the attention. Flip.
