I believe that since energy doesn't "die", it just changes form, and makes an appearance in another dimension, which would explain what happens when we die. Also very possible why people who are inherently "evil" can pass on to another dimension and otherwise show up as bad spirits. So, in conclusion, don't mess with a ouji board. You don't know what door you will open, and you won't know how to close it. " |

Well don't devalue quantum mechanics based on it being a "theory". There's a big difference between the definition of scientific theory and layman's theory. Basically it has two completely different meanings.
In layman's use it's synonymous with a "hunch" and at very best with what science refers to as a hypothesis.
In real usage it refers to a factual explanation on how something works, a body of knowledge. Scientific theories are the most reliable, rigorous, and comprehensive form of scientific knowledge, there's nothing above a theory.
Remember Gravity is also a 'theory' so is the idea that germs can cause disease "germ theory" and many other obviously true things.

Yes, true, energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it just passes from one form to another.
Problem with your suggestion is that it relies on the mystic concept of "duality", that the consciousness is somehow separate and its existence non-reliant on the physical brain and body.
Problem with this is the consciousness is produced by the neurons in the brain which requires energy, its energy is supplied by the energy we obtain from food.
The energy leaves the brain through thermodynamics into our natural world(and dimensions). It's not a closed system, upon death energy is no longer supplied to the brain and without energy consciousness fades away, and whatever residual energy was left dissipates as heat(into our world).
The other issue is general anesthesia completely shuts down the brain, same as in death. If your idea was true, people waking up from surgery would have memories of passing to other dimensions and of spooking people through Ouiji boards, shaking bottles, flickering lights and other mischief.
