Prices vary by date, duration, level of hotel.

If you can find a resort where kids are free then you should be able to find a pretty nice place for 3-4 thousand taxes in. Play around on Itravel Redtag or Sunwing are the main ones we use.

Visit travel sites and start plunking in days and where you want to go. The prices can vary so much depending how many star resort you want. Plus there are excursions and so forth.

which resort, 3 star, 4 start 5 star, dates have a huge bearing.  
 
i dont trust expedia and those sites for that actual booking, I would call the resort directly otherwise your dealing with a 3rd party.  
 
also when your planning a week or so vacation i would engage a travel company, it is debatable if you wind up paying any more, but even if it is a few hundred i think it is well worth it, particularly if you dont travel often.  
 
I know people will say you do it yourself and save money but they may be frequent travelers out of the country and know all the ropes.

Travel agents have told me they charge the exact same prices I see online. I meant expedia for a method of price guidelines.  
 
I am a frequent traveller and it is all easy for me. If you are new at this, it is not easy.

Mexico is not the most child friendly place, more aimed at adults. Taking kids somewhere? They would enjoy Kissimmee Florida a lot more.

We all have passports, the way our dollar has been. US would be a bit to pricey right now I would think.

Take goshdarns advice with a grain of salt! (No Offense!!)Booking directly with a resort is going to cost you a WHOLE lot more. The room will be more, then you have to find flights and transfers to and from the resort on your own and this too will be way more than a package deal.  
Booking a package online is no different than buying anything else online there is nothing to be scared of. You can if you like also call one of the reps of the company and book over the phone if that makes you more comfortable.  
On a side note the Cancun/Mayan side is generally alot more expensive. And the weather there can be finicky until about March.We've froze there a couple times already lol.Our new favorite place is the Riu Jalisco outside PV. Great resort and area.

We also just got back from mexico and stayed at Riu Jalisco. Really recommend it

A resort that has lots of activities for kids....Iberostar resorts are my choice....they are 4/5 star....depending on what kind of rooms you want standard rooms are the cheapest....also the closer you want to be to the beach the more it costs....I have booked through itravel 2000 website....have not had any problems....I encountered a couple in Cancun that booked through Expedia and when they got to the resort the resort did not receive their reservations....let’s just say the fight was on. I find that they always have deals on the same resorts all the time...we have tried a few of these deals and let’s just say....they were awful...some of the beaches were rocky as you walked into the ocean so I would suggest you take water shoes with you...read trip advisor as well...people post the good & bad of the resorts.

if you are from brandon a good choice is west jet vacations deal with them direct they have packages. You can fly out of brandon via calgary to east or west coast. some of their deals are aimed at families more now than ever. have fun.

Love Mexico, but have to agree with PoliticallyIncorrect that weather on the Cancun side can be unpredictable. Made the mistake of going there one year in December and it rained the first 4 days.

Go See Jennifer at SelloffVacations (same plaza as the Bulk Barn). I've tried it on my own, but she gets me GREAT deals and finds those ones that I wouldn't ever consider if I saw them online. I've booked 3 different vacations with her and never been disappointed!

I hate go fund me pages for people who CHOOSE to be stupid and leave home without it. Find someone who sells it and get informed. It is cheap and part of the cost of travelling. It takes 20 min to put it into force and peace of mind....buy it!!!!! Or dont expect help

Been to he Riu chain before and it’s wonderful.

I would like to know the pricing too, say for a family of five (3 children). Only one person specified a price range. And I''m wondering if thats for one person or two?. Is there resorts where children are free?

Hey bud, the information i gathered for my family i was quoted roughly 4200 for my wife, myself and two children age 5 and 12. That was at 5 star resort all inclusive for 7 days.

This is inclusive of air travel?

Food,Drinks,hotel and air fare

Went last yr. for 3 adults. All inclusive with insurance was $3800. Out of Winnipeg for 7 days. Prices can differ by $2-300 per person leaving on different days of week. Think we went Tuesday to Tuesday

Sunquest vacations. Through Expedia. Very simple. Will do again. Flew Westjet

Another thing we've found is usually, not always though a trip will be cheaper flying out of Regina vs Winnipeg. Nice to be in the middle of the two.

Maybe sometimes. When we went Regina was more money. And I would rather go to Regina then Winnipeg

Some quotes we got with Regina departures were virtually the same price as Winnipeg but others were almost $300 per person cheaper for filghts the same day, to the same resort.
