Going to Las Vegas was wondering what shows you enjoyed the most?Good places to eat that are reasonable in price.Staying at the RIO for part of the trip is there shuttle or bus that gets you back and forth to the strip?Thanks

What do you consider "reasonable"??  
 
We've said at Palms which is right around where the Rio is. There wasn't any shuttles when we stayed or at least I didn't notice any. We walked but there are lots of cabs in front as well. Its a bit of a pain.  
 
Hubby and I really enjoyed Absinthe at Ceasars but again depends what like. If you are easily offended I would avoid it. Look for the discount show ticket booths on the strip can find a deal.

We took Uber’s around when we needed it and it was fast and cheaper than a taxi. Since your staying at the Rio see Penn and Tellar. It was worth it. Blue man group is another good show to see. Go see Fremont. The strip is great. Make sure to drink water lots during the day. It’s pretty warm.

been long time since we were there. looking for fun things as well. I hear the zip line is great fun superman style.

I think you have to see a cirque show depends if you like music for Beatles or Michael Jackson or sexy of zumanity.  
my suggestion if its first time go see the sites walk or get on a tour bus and get a look at what might tweak your interest. lots of people watching and cheap things no need to spend hundreds of dollars on shows. nor on machines lots of nickels slots

It won't be that hot there now, it's winter. Temps will be in the low 20's during the day. It will get a little chilly at night maybe even dip into the single digits so be sure to pack a sweater or light jacket. Have fun.

There was an article before Christmas that said Rio was discontinuing its shuttle service. I think you can ride the one at the Gold Coast still, but I have no idea how close those casinos are.  
 
I've never had a bad meal in Vegas. We try and stay away from the chains we could get anywhere and try and eat at places we can only get when in Vegas/states. A typical burger/pizza place with a drink each is likely going to cost you around $45/couple.

We each picked one show...I picked Elton John (if you like Elton John I don't have to say anymore) and the other was David Copperfield...mind blowing....very entertaining!!

Search the web for coupons. Groupon is another good spot to find discounts.  
 
Staying at the Rio...DO the seafood buffet!! I'm not a huge buffet fan but this one was fantastic! It's $50 but all the lobster, crab, steak you want.  
 
Rollin' Smoke BBQ (The original one, not the one at the Pawn Shop) is also great. It's old fashioned BBQ at a great price. Was on Diner's Drive Inns and Dives.  
 
As for shows, they can be hit and miss as the performers do them so often I'm sure it gets boring. I like the idea of the previous post of each choosing one. Try and look for a headliner that isn't there all the time and spend a bit extra on that. We've seen Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Kiss, Celine...all good shows. As for comedy, Carrot Top is worth every penny. Hilarious and a cheap ticket. Penn & Teller OK but weren't what I expected so was a little disappointed with them. We saw Zumanity and I didn't like it at all, I wasn't offended by any means, just not my thing and my wife didn't care for it either. And I could've skipped Terry Fator, kinda blah.  
 
DEFINITELY go to the piano bar at NY NY. It's a blast, it's a must do for us every time we go. The cheapest and one of the funnest things to do is pick a spot on the strip, or at Freemont, and people watch. Cheap entertainment, lol.

Thanks for the info.Looks a little above normal for weather next week.YEAH.We do have tickets booked for Elton John and are trying to pick another show or two.So many to choose from!!will also hit Freemont one day

I don't know about a shuttle or how to get from an off- strip hotel TO the strip. But if you took a cab or ride share to the closest spot on the strip, you could then get a bus pass. We have been to Vegas a few times, and the most economical way to get around on the Strip is bus. You can get an 8hr, 24hr, or 3 day pass - which gives unlimited rides, get on and off wherever you want up and down the strip. We have taken the bus to Freemont, to the North Outlet mall, and the South Outlet mall. No open alcohol on the bus, but if you're quiet and discreet, we haven't been kicked off with a go-cup.
