How is the flight from Brandon to Vancouver? Is there normally a direct flight and how much does it normally cost for one adult return? Is the flight comfortable? Thanks.

You have to fly to Calgary and connect there. They use a small turboprop to get to Calgary and it's not the most comfortable aircraft in the world - about 2 1/2 hours or so, I think. I just did it in December and connected to Victoria from there.

I did that flight last month. Was pretty easy. Was a 2 hr 20 minute layover in Calgary. Just perfect amount of time to grab something to eat and get to gate. Its connection so no need to worry about your bags. Left late morning and was on the island by dinner time local time. Eco return fare was roughly $700. They also charged $25 a leg for my 1 suitcase, carry on was free.

$700! Wow! Might be cheaper to fly from Winnipeg.

Oh for sure the flight is cheaper from Winnipeg. But once you factor in gas to get there and back, $150 to park and 4 or 5 hours of your time is it really cheaper???

If you are flexible with your days or book far enough ahead round trip can be around 450. Winnipeg is basically the same price. To the op. It is flying metal tube. Nothing comfortable about it. As airplanes go the one to Calgary is a bit on the loud side but for a smaller plane not bad at all.

If you ultimately decide not to fly out of Brandon, it’s usually cheaper to Regina-Van than Wpg-Van. Driving to the Wpg airport is normally 2.5hrs, while to Regina airport is about 3.5hrs.

Winnipeg airport is around 2 hours from Brandon. Regina airport is 3.5+ its an easy 3 hours extra round trip to go to Regina over Winnipeg.

So are morning flights usually less busy? If it is a 6am flight, what time should I be at the Brandon airport?

They recommend at least an hour beforehand.

Just did this last weekend.

We checked Wpg, Regina & Brandon for one way flights to Vancouver. Overall, Brandon was cheapest when everything was considered. Book early in the morning for your cheapest flights (the 6:20 am is good). It is less busy then too. Be there at 5 if your plane leaves at 6:20.

Layover at Calgary gave us the choice of 1, 2, or 3 hours of layover.

Is it easy to get a cab at the Brandon airport? I don't wish to leave my vehicle there so hope I can get a cab easily when I'm back.
