    Is the west side Portage overpass open to traffic that want to drive through the city? Someone told me that they thought the overpass was closed due to a truck hitting the overpass a couple of months ago and the overpass was deemed unsafe but they weren't sure.

    Yes it is open. Just narrow and rough entering and exiting the bridge. It is a 50km speed zone now as well.

    I believe its the lane that would have led you around the off ramp to the east bound Portage by-pass that has been closed to allow traffic heading east to enter Portage at that end of town.

    i was just there yesterday, going east you can use the overpass and go through portage just with slower speed but if you were heading west out of portage and wanted to go east on the bipass you had to use the service road to get onto the 1 east alternatively you could take the on ramp for 1 west and turn at the next junction, which isnt to far out of the way
