We are going to Varadero in Early December and was wondering if any one has any CUC they would like to sell?

Can't bring any of their currency home. Only available down there.  
 
Have fun! Went last year. We had terrible weather, hope you have better. The beaches were gorgeous but our weather didn't permit use except for one day. We went in February.  
 
Bring medication for stomach issues, etc. can't find it down there, or if you can it's very expensive. Fortunately we didn't require it, but ran into some people who were very grateful we had a stash.  
 
 
One thing to please note. People complain about food there. Remember this is a 3rd world country and the staff serving food could only imagine having a chance to eat that well. Please do not complain in front of the wait staff. I was so appalled at how some of the tourist (lots of them Canadian!) talked about the food in front of the citizens. These people would kill to have a meal like that.  
 
Also, they LOVE clothes, electronics (old unlocked phones), candy (for kids), etc. as tips.  
 
If you have any decent clothes to donate, bring em down there. Make-up as well. These make great tips that they are so grateful for.

Don't mean to sound negative, we absolutely loved Cuba and will go back for sure. It is beautiful, the people are very friendly, lots of culture.

we have been to Cuba before, have made friends from down there as well and have a 'shopping list' for them.  
You can leave the country with CUC, however you are not able to buy it through any financial institutions outside Cuba. I I was hoping someone had brought some home with them. Id be happy to replace it with CUC when we returned if that is what they'd like.  
thanks for your reply, I love Cuba as well, the people, the culture, the rum! If I want to travel for food I'll got to France or Italy!

I am done with paying for toilet paper and bathrooms with no toilet seats.
