Touring Europe by Train

Has anyone used the train zip around Europe? We are planning a trip to London, over to Paris and then up to Amsterdam.
Good or bad? Cost? Tips or tricks? High speed trains or slower local ones?

Train travel in Europe is a fantastic method of travel. I have made numerous trips from high speed to local routes. The trains are always on time and very reliable. It’s a great way to see the country side. There are a variety of rail passes available for the length of your stay.

Train system is fantastic there. Some of the stations need more time to figure out yourself than other stations, but it's no real issue! It's the best way to travel in my opinion.

Very reasonable cost. And as a previous poster said there are many different passes available, it all depends on what you're looking for and how long you're staying for!
