Question someone flying next month from Vancouver to Brandon for a vacation if it was you would you be flying staying for a week . I do not understand why they would fly if it's not essential . I think it's irresponsible . thoughts

It’s not illegal. We have no say over how others live there lives.  
 
Do I approve. No. Would I do it. No. Would I come on ebrandon to complain. No as well.

How would you handle this situation this person is coming to see me and other family members if I tried to discourage them they get all defensive and have a fit . I just do not understand why a person would choose to come with everything upside down ,sideways backwards very risky..

Not really sure how this becomes anyone's business. All border crossings coming from the West are open. It does not have to be essential to cross anymore......irresponsible, NO. Put yourself in the same situation. You would, as well as myself, fly into Brandon. People, believe it or not, This is not Russia, and Trudeau is not a Czar. We are free to do what we choose. Its time to realize that Covid is a political play, not a social safety one.

Are they staying with you?  
 
Personally, I would look forward to the visit. But it doesn’t sound like you are. Are other people in Brandon looking forward to it?  
 
If they aren’t staying with you, then all you have to say is you hope they enjoy their visit but you won’t be able to visit with them face to face.  
 
If they want to stay with you then you will have to tell them they can’t.

How long are we to shut down the economy? A year? Two years? Stop airlines forever? This person is flying next month. 6 months later after this started. Enough is enough. We need to move on and get on with life and stop fearing like everyone is going to die if gotten covid. I am high risk and it is what it is. The government is spending BILLIONS AND BILLIONS for many people to just sit at home. Our government credit ratings are dropping, we are borrowing way more than is acceptable.

The borders are open to the west......I don’t understand the problem personally.

Not an issue with me at all. I’ve got family flying in on the 14th to stay with me for a few weeks. There’s no 14 day ban. People are still taking precautions. I’m considered high risk and I’m not gonna live in fear or be angry that others are choosing to do things that are entirely legal.

By which country? People are dying all over the world at an alarming rate. We have been lucky here because our government shut early. Travel anywhere in this world during a pandemic is irresponsible as far as I am concerned. Cases in Manitoba will likely only happen from importation from travel. People here need to ensure they are not lulled into a false sense of security. Our public health officials said this yesterday.

Each of us has different risk tolerance, perhaps due to health concerns, employment requirements, etc. I think it is important to respect each other’s boundaries during this challenging time.  
 
We experienced a similar situation in that we had someone from another province that has more COVID-19 cases than we have in Manitoba ask to come visit and stay at our home. We replied that as much as we’d like to see them, we would prefer a visit after the pandemic is over. They may still come, but they won’t be staying with or seeing us. We don’t belittle their choice to come: they don’t belittle our choice to wait.
