Has Anyone taken a trip south this past weekend?  
Did you cross the border back to Canada with no issues?  
 
Heard stories of people being sent home with test kits

Went to Bottineau. No issues going. To come back need to have the arrivecan app downloaded and filled out. If done right, no issues.

I went down for just under 72 hours and no problems at all. Just make sure you fill out the Arivecan app

If someone is with that has a cell you can add your information on to theirs, as the app allows you to have more than one person on it. Another option would be to fill it out on a computer somewhere. You do not need to have the app with you when you get to the border, just your password and a copy of your vaccination status if asked for it.  
Other than that you might be sol.

So we crossed the border Saturday to pick up some packages. We had our kids with us. We were under the impression that kids dont have to quarantine if they are travelling with fully vaccinated parents. Turns out that kids have to do Day 1 and Day 8 covid test. We were told theyre not really on quarantine but must not attend school for 14 days. Sucks that we didn’t know this before travelling….

The government of Canada is expected today to advise against all non essential travel.

Is anyone going this weekend to pick up packages? I’ve misplaced my passport and have 2 boxes at Boarder Services to pick up

That does not leave you much time. Saturday hours are 9-2 and Monday 9-7 before new rules come into effect on Tuesday, Dec. 21 requiring covid test prior to reentering Canada. And don't forget your ArriveCan app completion.

Setting up my app and it says proof of vaccination forms first dose second dose. I do not know where my papers are but will my QR code work??

I have travelled twice. I flew once and this week drove. Make sure you have everything in order. I did the Arrive Can. The first time was just before the Canadian vaccination QR codes were available. Everyone on the plane took proof of their Manitoba QR codes. Wrong. Needed paper proof. Since we were in a learning curve we were allowed through. This time I did the arrive can. Uploaded my proof. Got the the check mark everything was ok. Even received my Arrive Can receipt . When we get to border he said the vaccine proof was not there. I had the QR code on my phone. He did not ask to see it. But wanted to see the papers. Just get them printed and store them with your passport. Glitches happen. If you have the proof you are golden. In the long wrong you will have no problems with the paper.  
He never even asked to see my negative test report. But I guess it was on my arrive can.  
My husband got a random test kit. When we went to do it first thing we noticed is it is expired. So we phone the number on the kit. We’re told that it was a mistake. Should read 2022. Can you imagine how many calls they get about these expired kits. Easy to change sticker? Anyway used it. Got results next day. Negative.  
Another thing, when booking your test to come home book it as soon as you can. They have testing hours and are busy. Both time I could only get it at 11 Sunday morning to be back in Canada for Tuesday at supper time. Got results Monday evening both times. Worked for me but I know someone who didn’t get results back for 52 hours  
They were turned away at border because they didn’t get results so had to get a hotel till they received them.  
Also in these case we were tested at CVS pharmacy for free. However they require you to set up a MY CHART account to get results. They don’t just email the results to you. Doing all these things have little problems you have to figure out on the fly. You will. For instance it seemed I needed a US address. I had one so was ok. Don’t know what if you don’t. Didn’t bother to go into that.  
Just have all your documents and do the Arrive Can and don’t leave things till last minute.  
You can fill out a lot of the Arrive Can ahead of time as it saves your info.
