Road Tripping...suggestions??

I'm taking a road trip in the near future and I'm wondering which route is better to take through Ontario...Highway 11 or Highway 17??? My mom's concerned about the 'no cell service, mountains and little traffic' issue. Any suggestions which one's better? Thanks!
