Your summer vacation plans: Effected by economy?

From the article below, 70% of Manitoba and Saskatchewan respondants to a survey indicated that they planned to travel domestically within Canada this year. This compared to 42% nationwide.
That begs the question, why is the 70% number higher this year? Would you say its economy-related? Have your personal holiday plans been tamed this year compared to years past?
Also interesting to note the significant difference between habits of flat prairie travelers and those that live in other parts of the country. Is it as simple as it takes less to wow us than it does someone who lives in different surroundings?
