Anyone familiar with Airmiles?

I just tried to book a flight with my rewards in February and was told there were no flights available and if I tried again in a month or so there might be something.
Does anyone know if they just have a restriction on how far in advance you can book and just haven't opened the seats yet OR if the seats they had are just all booked?
Any ideas?
