Hoping to head to Disney California either in the fall or next spring. Looking for any advice people have to offer on what to do, where to stay........

Lucky you! We were there for Christmas. We stayed at the Howard Johnson Waterpark, hotel was nice. But we didn't really get a chance to enjoy it bc we spent so much time at Disney. It is a 8 minute walk. We had more fun at California Land but the lineups for some rides could be brutal, we took advantage of fast passes. Enjoy your trip!

Forgot to mention get hopper pass (gives you access to both places Disneyland and Californialand)

We are looking into Disneyland, Disney California adventure, Lego land, sea world, and maybe San Diego zoo and trying to find the best pass that groups them all together

I have been twice and stayed at Ramada Maingate Anaheim .. great hotel ... has booking agent right there for booking extra trips .. ie seaworld and san diego Zoo.. has a pool to cool off if you go when hot and free breakfast.. also has souvenir store with great prices on SeaWorld and if needed can rent scooters right from there as well as mini golf ... decent price .. some rooms you can see fireworks in case you have small children and cant stay til end ,,Have fun it truly is the happiest place on earth ...
