Looking for summer vacation ideas for two adults....  
Any and all ideas appreciated

What kind of time frame would you be working with? Budget?

About a week and no budget in mind other than not looking to travel overseas

If you're thinking of a city destination Ottawa or Quebec City are great places to visit in the summer; there is always lots to see and do.  
Any of the East Coast provinces are wonderful. Cape Breton is amazing, as is PEI.  
You also can't beat the Rockies for a get away. It's been years since we've been there but a great relaxing vacation is at Emerald Lake, B.C.  
These are just a few that I can think of at the moment.  
One of the advantages of vacationing in Canada is that there is so much to see and do without crossing a border or exchanging money.  
What ever you decide, I wish you a great vacation.

Couple thoughts....  
 
- If looking within Canada and you can afford to wait another week or two, I would. The new airline NewLeaf is going to resume booking soon and the last time they did Westjet matched them at ridiculously low rates on routes like Winnipeg to Vancouver/Kelowna/Toronto. We snagged a Toronto one for $170ish each round trip... pairs nicely with a few days in Niagara for a nice getaway.

Take a drive to Thunder Bay, Ontario, and go for a dig in the Amethyst mines. That is a really memorable trip for sure - lots of parks and scenery too as you go -
