So today's the day where all these new routes are supposed to be implemented when you take the bus. I've looked at the new routes on the website but it's not very clear to me whether the old routes are still in place or if these ones are replacing them. Anyone have any idea?

Old routes no longer exist. Some of the routes don't make sense but hopefully it will lead to more people using transit

AND why would there be a route in the new developent in the South End, nary a passenger got on, till we got much closer to downtown.  
And who will use the transit in south new developrment, when all homes are sporting 2 and 3 car garages

development in the south end? This was only the first day of the new route system. Give it time for everyone to catch on. So your saying the bus shouldn't be going down areas where driveways support 1 or more vehicles?

How narrow minded.

Definitely going to take some getting used to, that's for sure. Seems a bit more complicated if you want to get across the city rather than somewhere in the general area, but hopefully it works out for the city

People from all walks of life use transit from every area of the City. Students, seniors, people that may not be able to drive due to impaired vision, physically disabled, etc. No matter what side or area of the City, people need accessibility and the City of Brandon seems to be addressing this nicely.  
 
With the south end of Brandon being i:ncluded for any bus routes and if you think everyone that might live there are living large and don''t need bus routes and they all have vehicles or access, that is narrow minded in my opinion.  
 
I'm sorry you have a negative attitude. Cheer up.

Yeah very nicely, take the time to speak to some common people and transit drivers, better still use the city transit as your only mode of transportation .

Why are we arguing over the new bus routes?  
 
They were overdue.  
 
It's the middle of the summer, which traditionally has lower usage due to people not going to school, work, etc and the second day in. Give it time.  
 
The city has a mandate to provide bus service to the entire city, more or less. The adjustment to the service on MacDonald nonewithstanding (what ever happened with that), that includes the south end.  
 
I was a teenager from a 2-car household that took transit pretty much every day starting from about age 12 until age 18 or 19 when I bought a car. I took it to school and work, and it gave me independence. Don't assume no one will take it.

So why doesn't Brandon Transit have a Transit App. All buses have GPS and there are lots of programs available to show the route of the bus and where it is. It would be great to have it with a green dot to show on time a yellow dot to show late and a red dot to show broke down. It would be nice in the freezing winter and boiling summer to know where the bus is and would surely to promote Bus ridership. If i only knew how long do i have to wait, is the bus on schedule or did i just miss it.

It takes time and money to develop an app, maybe the City decided that there are better uses for its resources.  
 
In Winnipeg, somebody who rides the bus a lot developed the app and released it for free. Maybe some bus riding citizens in Brandon could do the same.

I have talked to some people who use the bus from Maple Leaf and getting downtown from there is a big problem now. One of those buses has been eliminated.  
 
I know 1 person was talking about jumping off on Richmond and running across the street to catch no.23 which heads near the hospital. That sounds like a scary thing to do on a busy street.  
 
I am glad I don't use transit that much because it does seem confusing right now.

I have not used the buses in years & I'm going to be using them this fall when I look at the route maps I get overwhelmed .So this what I need help with I live on the 200 block of 10th St & there is a bus that stops at Manitoba hydro & goes down to the terminal then I need the next bus connection to get to 1610 Pacofic ave,then I need to know the bus connection to get back to where I started there is also a bus stop by the westoba credit union on 10th that is where I would like to end up & I do have a visual impairment so routine is the best. thank you in advance

Your best bet is to call 729 2279 to get their direction but it looks like you either have a long ride or a bit of walking.  
 
I think I have an idea how you would do it but if I sent you on a wild goose chase and you ended up God knows where I would feel bad.

Rue, I agree with Happy Hour.... best is to give Brandon Transit a call. But in the meantime..... Looking at the Route maps, it looks like you need to take Route 17 on 10th Street (bus stop on the East side of the street) to the Downtown Bus Depot. There isn't a bus from the down town depot to 1610 Pacific, so you might have to walk. Then it looks like you need to take Route 15 from the Down town Bus Depot to 10th Street (Bus stop on the west side of the street). A bit of a walk on the Route 15 bus stops to the area MB Hydro building.

Be providing the Google trips planner but the transit site now says:  
 
"*Current Google Trip Planner is experiencing some issues with accuracy. We are working on correcting these issues and will update the website as soon as they are complete. Phone the Info Centre if you are unsure (204-729-2300)."  
 
So maybe once it's up and running it will be a useful tool.

Ask people who live west of 26th street on McDonald Avenue what they think of the new bus routes.  
 
They have no service.

Most of the north end keeps getting the short stick.

With this new schedule there is no bus service on Braecrest from the corner of Knowlton to 18th. With all the apts, condos, co-op housing, mobile homes etc in that stretch that is a lot of people without bus service.

bus20 route was best to get to crocus for my my daughter from 1st street and me to the mall now I got to walk all the way down to park ave by macs not bad for late spring summer early fall but winter and early spring snow and ice going to be tricky for people who have to walk even further to a newer changed bas stop that's is farther going to be tricky I wish they would left 20-21 bus routes alone don't know what going to do when cant drive do to eyesight
