A little over a month ago, you may have read in this space about an excellent born-in-Brandon initiative that gives folks the opportunity to over a handful of weeks this summer get their hands on some truly great-looking locally branded apparel while supporting an even better local cause.
Love Local, the product of Brandon’s Jenn and Ryan Shields, features a line of t-shirts, hoodies and hats marked with a distinctly Brandon design created by Brandon’s Source for Sports that features the city’s water tower, Keystone Centre and the distinctive Downtown skyline that oh-so-pops over the horizon as you come into the city down 1st or 18th Streets.
With just a couple days to go before the July 31 deadline that’s been set for orders, it was shared on Tuesday that a whopping $5000 in apparel has been sold with hoodies being the most popular seller. Not only does that make for quite the statement of the demand for apparel that gives folks a chance to show local pride, even more importantly all proceeds from sales go to Brandon’s Samaritan House in their ongoing efforts to fund additional support for those in need in the community.
Though still available for a couple more days, folks may already notice a number of items in the wild with some initial orders having already been prepared for pickup in advance of the end-of-month deadline:
All items are sold on a pre-order basis through a website setup for the initiative at https://www.openheartswellness.ca/love-local
