Site Lead (Supervisor)
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The BEEP Site Lead (Supervisor) is the on-site lead carpenter and demonstrates construction best practices working alongside participants in the BEEP Program with the goal of providing holistic construction training for participants facing barriers to employment.
SCOPE
The BEEP SITE Lead reports to the Construction Training Manager and Operations Director. They are responsible for on-site work and participant mentorship in the BEEP program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of various construction related experience.
- Worksite supervision experience.
- Must possess a valid and subsisting class 5 driver?s license.
- Expert knowledge of all facets of construction process from building products, blueprints, construction details and relevant codes, rules, regulations and quality standards
- Certification required (or willingness to obtain): Fall protection, CPR, WHMIS
? Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to prioritize workload to meet competing demands
? Strong communication skills and respect for others
? Effective conflict and crisis management skills
? Produce a satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons Check
REMUNERATION
The BEEP Site Lead (Supervisor) is a 36.25 hours of work per week position at $20 to $24/ hour wage, pending experience. All leave and benefits shall be paid in accordance with the BNRC Personnel Policy Manual.
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Scheduling
Follow and assist with the development of project plans and schedules, tasks, timelines, and resources required to complete projects.
Procurement and materials management
Assist with procuring materials and equipment, managing inventory and ensuring that they are delivered to the job site on time as needed.
Safety and compliance
Ensure that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Supervision and team leadership
mentor participants and work with collaborators to ensure that everyone is working together effectively.
Provide leadership, supervision, and a positive carpentry training work environment for all program participants.
Provide a team approach to on-the-job training, mentoring and life skills support for all program participants.
Quality control and inspection
Monitor work quality and ensure that all work meets the required quality standards.
Communication and reporting
Communicate with project collaborators, including clients, designers, and other team members, and provide regular progress reports on the project's status.
Provide necessary payroll attendance records and staff performance reports to Operations Director
