I was just wondering if there were any programs out there that help with groceries. Like a food coupon program or something? My family makes too much for us going to Social Assistance, but we have hardly anything left over once bills are paid for anything else. So I just just curious if there is anything else out there to go for help?. Thanks for your responses.

save.ca is a good one they mail the cupons if you cdont have a computer.

superstore cupons also work at walmart because they have a price match garentee as well as taking your flyers you can get the same price as anywhere else without having to go to 50 million stores.

Going to the 7th Street Access Center..they have home cooked meals that are frozen and will give them out to families in need of food...also yes, Samaritan House and Salvation Army have hamoers as does St. Augustine's and Youth for Christ does food hampers on Saturday mornings I believe...hope that helps..

Couple things I have learnt over the years.  
Coupon!  
Price Match! - Walmart does this. You have to have the flyer with you. Has to be the current week. Saves running from store to store. Walmart will also let you price match and use a coupon for the same item.  
 
Also buy bulk when you can. Just saved a bit each month. Did a run to wpg to Costco and stocked up on some meat, toilet paper, laundry soap, finish tabs. Bigger quantities for the same price as her when not on sale.  
 
I also make trips to the states to Bottineau when the dollar is good. Stock up and bring back. Just finishing my last 2L bottle of conditioner that I bought May 2014. They were $2 each.Purchased 5 bottles. I have short hair and don't use much lol.  
 
Just really gotta watch that's all I can say. I also prep big meals like soups stews and sauces then freeze them for use later. It helps when all you gotta worry about is garlic bread and noodles when is comes to spaghetti.  
 
Last but not least.....don't eat out unless it's for an occasion.

I found that planning a meal for everyday of the week and shopping for those ingredients helped my budget tremendously! I also just watch the flyers for deals and stock up when I can. I also found that since I got my bread maker I save a lot in buying bread way cheaper to make my own bread and buns! Freezing left overs can help also!

I would also recommend the meal plan as well. We just started using it and it shaved $100 off pur grocery bill. We plan meals for every 2 weeks. It's been working.

I believe that the frozen meals provided here are for emergency use only and not intended as a "food program". Certainly go there, and they will help you explore options for your situation.

If you are stuck and reach out to people openly and honestly then you are always going to find people that are willing to help.  
I have been in some desperate situations over the years with a handicapped child and sick husband. For not the kindness of others we would have gone hungry on many occasions. I believe in paying that forward.  
I do not have a garden but perhaps there are other ways I could help.
