Doesn't the bank usually do their own appraisals? I have bought a couple houses in the last few years and the banks have done their own appraisal at no cost. You will be paying them thousands of dollars of interest on your mortgage they should be covering this cost.

Ya that's what I would expect to but the "plan" we have threw our bank expects us to pay for it

ago when i bought my house i paid close to $600 for this, i honestly cant remember the company i used.
