Just wondering if you use online websites to buy cheap airline tickets? Which one have you used for overseas flights and how was your experience?

I have used Expedia a few times. Most occasions it was pretty smooth but I have had a couple of issues with connecting flights not being secured properly. Honestly these sites are just a online travel agent . If you talk with a actual travel agent they will find you exactly what you want. If price is a key factor and you don't mind multiple connections or long layovers the will be able to find what you are requesting.

I use this site called Skyscanner.com  
It shows all of the sites on one. Usually cheaper to book during the week than on weekends.

I found once or twice while searching for flights on West Jet that as I played with the dates and times eventually the ticket price went up! There would sometimes be a deal available. I would look up the same route on different days. When I returned to the first date searched, the price had gone up!

But only to see what the cheapest prices are, I can usually get a similar price on the airline website, which often gives you better service if you need to change anything. I generally fly to the UK with Air Canada. Wednesdays tend to be the cheapest day to fly too.

That unless you use an "incognito " setting, they will track your searches and up your price. That is apparently most sites.

I check a few different ones, these 2 (Flight Network and Kayak) are my go to- if it shows a deal with a certain airline (eg. Westjet) then I'll check on the original airlines website to see if I can book that flight  
. I'd always rather book with the original than a travel site for piece of mind

I have seen very bad reviews for Kayak and Flightnetwork on the Internet. They have actually very good price on the flight I want but I am afraid if they are trustworthy. Their phone number is not toll free, it says customer help could be toll free number or not. If something goes wrong they can leave you waiting for hours behind phone.  
 
Was your experience with them smooth Nameless?  
 
Matrix software is very good tool, to find the good price but you can not buy direct. The prices they have is higher than Kayak, that is another reason I am kind of suspicious about Kayak.
