A new Brandon-area Halloween attraction is in the final stages of planning for its debut at the end of the week.
The Bry Mar Haunted Forest will soon be setup through trails in a wooded area at the site of Bry Mar RV Park and Campground located East of Brandon. Making use of animatronics, props and live actors/actresses, I understand that among attractions visitors can expect to cross paths with are werewolves, zombies and clowns a-plenty.
For those that make it to the end, hot dogs, hot chocolate and a mini donut vendor will be available on-site.
The haunt will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 18, 19 and 20 between 5 and 9pm with the first hour from 5-6pm being a no-scare hour.
Bry Mar is located approximately 10km East of Brandon on the North side of the Trans Canada highway.
Entry will be free with a representative of the haunt telling me that it is being held as a fundraiser for mental health leaning towards supporting and helping first responders. In that regard donations will be accepted on-site and following the event will be donated to S.P.I.N. (Suicide Prevention Implementation Network).
The addition of the haunted forest at Bry Mar gives the Brandon area an embarrassment of riches when it comes to seasonal Halloween attractions. Opening on Thursday is the Big Brothers Big Sisters Haunted House at the Town Centre with Grim Acres Scare Away Cancer scheduled to open the following week.
