Position Title: Constituency Assistant

Employment Type: Permanent (37.5 hrs/week), some evenings and weekends
Start Date: August 4, 2026
MP Grant Jackson is seeking a dedicated and client-focused individual to join our team as a Constituency Assistant. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to Canadians by assessing cases, administrative, and community engagement responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience with the workings of the federal government.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with clients by phone or in person, track and complete constituency casework for federal programs and departments, including:
- Immigration
- Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
- Canada Pension Plan (CPP)/Old Age Security (OAS)
- Passports
- Veterans Affairs
- Other federal departments or agencies as required
- Review applications, supporting documentation, and eligibility requirements.
- Communicate decisions, explain program requirements, and provide guidance to clients.
- Maintain accurate and complete case records in electronic databases.
- Ensure compliance with federal legislation, regulations, privacy requirements, and service standards.
- Decision making is based on full support for the Member of Parliament.
Essential Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), beneficial experience with case management systems or databases.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks with accountability.
- Judgment and decision-making.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with integrity and professionalism.
